POSITION SUMMARY
Greener Pastures is seeking a highly dependable Operations Support Contractor to help keep key communications and administrative systems running smoothly.
This is a part-time, remote independent contractor role focused on website updates, email and social publishing support, donor/admin systems, and light program logistics.
This is a short-term contract with the potential (not guaranteed) for ongoing work based on organizational needs and budget.
LOCATION
Remote.
Contractors must be located in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
Strong preference for someone based in the Twin Cities metro area or able to travel occasionally to the Twin Cities for in-person needs as required (rare).
HOURS, COMPENSATION, AND TERM
8–10 hours per week.
$25–$30 per hour, invoiced monthly (contractor is responsible for all taxes and insurance).
Anticipated start date: February 1, 2026 (or as soon as filled).
Anticipated contract end date: June 30, 2026.
HOW WE’LL WORK TOGETHER
Weekly 30-minute check-in, plus async communication as needed.
Work will be assigned and prioritized weekly to fit within the agreed hours.
Contractor will provide a simple weekly status update (what’s done, what’s in progress, what’s blocked).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Website support (Showit)
Make simple website updates (text swaps, image swaps, new sections, basic page edits)
Post updates related to events, webinars, program information, and announcements
Email and contact management (Mailchimp)
Upload and organize contacts, tag/segment lists, and maintain list hygiene
Build and schedule emails using existing templates and guidance
QA email formatting, links, and basic accessibility checks before send
Social publishing support
Load pre-created content into social media publishing tools for scheduling
Apply captions, links, and basic formatting using Greener Pastures templates and guidance
Donor and admin operations (Donorbox + internal tracking)
Maintain donor data hygiene and update internal spreadsheets/trackers
Support donor stewardship workflows (drafting thank-you messages/cards using templates, preparing mailings)
Assist with basic donation reporting and list exports as needed
Airtable and Google Workspace support
Update Airtable records and basic views as needed (tracking contacts, projects, or outreach)
Maintain shared Google Docs, Google Sheets, and file organization in Google Drive
Light program and partnership support (small component of role)
Support logistics for an event, webinar, or partnership touchpoint as needed (e.g., RSVP lists, reminders, calendar invites, follow-up emails, basic notes)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1–3+ years of experience in administrative, operations, communications coordination, or similar support work
Very strong Google Workspace skills, especially Google Docs and Google Sheets
Comfort working across multiple tools and platforms, including:
Showit (or demonstrated ability to learn website CMS platforms quickly)
Mailchimp
Airtable
Donorbox (or donor CRM experience with ability to learn quickly)
Familiarity with event tools (Eventbrite, Zoom webinars, calendar invite workflows)
Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through (you catch errors before they go out)
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision, while communicating clearly and proactively
Strong written communication skills, including light copyediting/copywriting using an existing brand voice
Ability to handle confidential donor and organizational information with discretion
English fluency (spoken and written)
Experience supporting nonprofits, small businesses, or startup environments
Basic accessibility awareness (captions/alt text best practices, link formatting, readability)
Resume and Cover Letter explaining your relevant experience with Showit, Mailchimp, Airtable, and donor/admin support
Optional: 1–2 brief work samples (examples could include an email you built in Mailchimp, a website update screenshot, a sample tracker you maintained—redacted as needed)
